Jay Jacobs
Jay Jacobs served as Auburn University’s Athletics Director from 2005 to 2018 (13 years, third-longest in school history).
Under his leadership, Auburn won 12 national championships and 25 conference titles, while department revenue nearly tripled from $57.3M to $147.5M. He oversaw $220M+ in facility upgrades, enhanced the student-athlete experience with new nutrition, mental health, and housing resources, and significantly improved the game-day environment.
Named 2017 NACDA/Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year, Jacobs previously rose through Auburn’s athletics ranks after playing football and coaching there.
He later served as Executive Senior Associate AD at the University of Florida (2018–2023), overseeing Football, Women’s Basketball, and external operations before retiring.
