UF DCP Collaboratory Project

Silverback has more than a few Gators fans on our team, and we’re even bigger fans of the positive impact UF has on our hometown and around the world. From footers and walls to decks, we’re honored to get involved every time the university needs concrete.

When Stellar Construction brought us in to build footings, cast-in-place walls and more for UF’s College of Design, Construction and Planning, we knew from the start that a creative touch was in order.

Our favorite part of this project? The true 1×8 board finish on the exterior walls. The owner wanted an authentic, organic look instead of the usual concrete form-liner on the forms. If you value looks as well as strength and stability, board-finishing is an excellent way to get the best of both worlds.

Silverback delivered 3,000 cubic yards of footers for a new 170-acre regional school in southern Virginia — all in just five weeks. Operating three excavators twelve hours a day, we poured 200 cubic yards every afternoon while consistently placing concrete within 24 hours of opening the footers, exceeding 700 cubic yards per week.

This project is especially meaningful to us — Silverback has called this church home for 27 years. After pouring the original foundation years ago, we’re honored to build the new addition. We went beyond the plans with wider, deeper footings and extra reinforcement to create a strong, lasting foundation built on faith for generations to come.

Silverback is proud to partner with Blackwater Construction Services on Fire Station 25 in Putnam County. We’re handling the full structural concrete scope — prepping, placing, and finishing the spread footings that form the foundation for this vital new station. This project will deliver faster emergency response and a safer community for years to come.
